1975 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship Highlights

Highlights from Maryland’s record-setting 20-13 victory over Navy in the 1975 NCAA men’s lacrosse championship game. Four-time All-American Frank Urso set a then-championship game record with five goals vs. the Mids.

You have to love the all Red unis and mustaches but most importantly, the abundance of flow. Long locks flowing below the strings on a bucket screams retro.

Brian Farrell's dad rocking the flow!

The legacy of the ’75 Maryland team is still being talked about til this day. Mostly because the Terps haven’t won a championship since and secondly because they were flat out beasts! I once went to a Subway in College Park and the sandwich maker told me that he saw Frank Urso take a shot, hit the cross bar and the rebound flew out of Byrd Stadium. It doesn’t matter if it happened or not it just goes to show that people still talk about that team on a regular basis.

View the video below. The music is definitely spot-on for the time period the game is being played.
