2011 Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase

Las Vegas, NV- Vitality Lacrosse announces the 3rd Annual Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase (LVLS), which will be taking place over Veteran’s Day Weekend starting 11.11.11. Like Las Vegas, this event offers something for everyone, with divisions of Boys U-15, U-17, U-19, Girls U-19, MCLA Collegiate, and adult men and women’s divisions.

The LVLS will again host the “Best of the West” college division which hosts the top MCLA talent in the West, including the current National Champion BYU Cougars, 2010 LVLS champs Cal Poly, perennial power University of Arizona, Westminster College, UCLA, and new MCLA addition Grand Canyon University are just a few of this year’s entrants.

The Salt Shakerz of New York return as defending champions in the Men’s Divison, and for their efforts will have some home field advantage as the New York New York Hotel will be the official hotel for the 2011 tournament. The Adult Division party will be held at ROK VEGAS Saturday night, the NYNY premier nightclub. LVLS will provide free cover and specials for all participants and guests.

The bright lights and fanfare of the famous Vegas strip will extend to the field as Vitality has partnered with some of the industry’s leading companies to bring LVLS participants face to face with some of the best players in the world, including Team USA defenseman, Eric Martin who will be on the field conducting clinics, signing autographs and showcasing new Gait Lacrosse products. Martin will share the spotlight with other notable surprise guests to be named later as well as BYU Head Coach, Matt Schneck, fresh off a National Championship season in 2011. Coach Schneck, accompanied by his staff and top players, will be working with youth and high school players on the field.

“The LVLS is like a MCLA National Championship tournament in the fall, combined with a premiere men’s tournament and a burgeoning HS division. This event is it when it comes to lacrosse in Vegas,” said Peter Langkammerer, Executive Director of the LVLS, and head assistant coach of UC Berkeley.

LVLS services include a tournament hotel booking concierge service and room discounts, shuttle transportation to and from the Strip, game filming services available through Prodigy, and discounts on Las Vegas entertainment. All information on the event is available online at LasVegasLacrosseShowcase.com.

The Wounded Warrior Project has been selected as the 2011 LVLS Charity, which is appropriate as the event falls on Veteran’s Day. A portion of the tournament proceeds will be donated to this organization, which supports United States military service men and women who have been injured while serving their country. Additional donations can be made to support this worthy cause.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
