Tampa Lacrosse Among Two New Teams to Compete in Deep South Conference

WINGATE, N.C. - The Deep South Conference has added two new teams that will join the conference, starting in the 2012 season. Florida Tech and the University of Tampa will be members of the nine-team conference. This will be the first year of men's lacrosse for both schools. The Tampa Spartans will be coached by Rory Whipple, the former coach at fellow DSC school Florida Southern. Whipple also coached at Bryant University, starting the lacrosse program there. Monday, January 23rd not only marked the start to our second week of practice, but also the beginning of classes for us as well. We all went through every one of our classes for twenty-five minute periods, thus marking the beginning of the spring semester. Practice started at 4:30 that day with a very up-tempo pace. Coast Guard Academy Lacrosse Announces 2012 Team Captains

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Coast Guard Academy Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach, LCDR Brian Krautler, announced today that three players have been selected to serve as team captains for the Bears’ upcoming 2012 season. This past weekend, Easton Lacrosse athlete and USA player, Casey Powell, delivered a slick low-to-high shot against Denver's rising star Jamie Faus at the 2012 Champion Challenge. Team USA rode the clear hard, which allowed Kevin Leveille to corral the loose ball and toss it behind-the-back to Matt Bocklet. Bocklet then seals the deal, ultimately, by feeding to Powell. Colgate Men’s Lacrosse Team Ranked 19th in Preseason Poll

HAMILTON, N.Y. (1/30/12) – The Colgate men's lacrosse team landed the No. 19 spot in the 2012 Nike/Inside Lacrosse Preseason Top 20 poll that was released today. The Raiders, who were picked to finish third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, were one of two teams in the league to secure a spot in the top 20. Bucknell was ranked 15th in the same poll. Colgate also received votes in the 2012 USILA Preseason Poll but was unable to break into the top 20. Read More...
