2013 PAC-12 Lacrosse Shootout

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach Jacques Bagley is excited to announce the official schedule of the 6th Annual PAC-12 Lacrosse Shootout. The 2013 Shootout returns to Los Angeles this February featuring some of the top teams out West.

“We have 11 of the PAC-12 teams attending in 2013, our biggest field yet,” noted Bagley. “We welcome the PAC-12 and the lacrosse community to UCLA to see some of the best teams in the MCLA in action. All games are free and the schedule is staggered so fans can see every team.”

Games will be played February 16th and 17th on UCLA’s North Athletic Field and Intramural Field. Teams from around the West Coast are excited for the event which brings lacrosse teams across four different MCLA conferences together for traditional PAC-12 competition.

“The PAC-12 event is one of my coaches’, players’, and parents’ favorite trips of the year,” said Arizona State Head Coach Chris Malone. “We kick of the season off with this trip every year and it has always been a great weekend for us. Coach Bagley does a phenomenal job putting this event together and communicating well with the PAC-12 coaches. We are looking forward to the trip once again.”

Berkeley Head Coach Dan Nourse commented that “The California Golden Bear Lacrosse Team looks forward to the 6th PAC-12 tournament. While supporting the growth of lacrosse within the PAC-12, it also gives us a great opportunity to have two out of conference games against quality opponents…Both [of our] games look to be epic battles. UCLA has done a great job in hosting this tournament and we look forward to another great weekend.”

“We are very excited for our match-up against Stanford in the PAC-12 Shootout,” added first-year Oregon Head Coach Phil Keebler. “They are a talented team that returns the bulk of their key players from last year. It is an honor to compete against Coach Virk, who is a great coach and…[has helped] pave the way for all those guys you see now coming from non-traditional areas and making it big at the powerhouse programs.”

“The University of Arizona is excited to have the opportunity to participate in our third year at the PAC-12 Lacrosse Shootout,” noted Arizona Head Coach Mickey Miles Fenton. “Our two most significant reasons for participating are: 1. UCLA manages such a fantastic, quality event…and 2. The exposure in Southern California for recruiting is fantastic. Not lost in this is the continual growth and interest in the sport of lacrosse as the entire Pacific-12 Conference can boast that all of our schools play a solid brand of lacrosse.”
