2,250 Players and Coaches Expected for the 6th Annual Lake Erie Lacrosse Showcase and Festival

On June 18 and 19, the 6th annual Lake Erie Lacrosse Showcase and Festival will bring 75 youth teams from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Ontario to town.

The tournament, which is coordinated by Chris Burdick of Providence College, Butch Chadwick of Medaille College and Michael Wright of the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy, will take place at Old Fort Niagara State Park in Youngstown, N.Y. Organizers are expecting 2,250 players and coaches to attend, resulting in an estimated economic impact of $562,500.

The tournament is focused on college recruitment and coaches from approximately 30 colleges, including SUNY Albany, SUNY Binghamton and Providence College, will be on hand to scout players.

Teams will compete in the following age categories:
 Under 17A / Elite
 Under 17B / Under 16
 Under 15
 Under 14
 Under 13
 Under 11

The Buffalo Lacrosse Academy will hold tryouts for its teams on Saturday, March 19 at the Buffalo Bills Field House in Orchard Park, N.Y. The tryout for Rising Freshman and Sophomores will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Rising Juniors and Seniors will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For information, visit www.buffalolacrosse.com.

The Lake Erie Lacrosse Showcase and Festival is presented by the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy, 24 Lacrosse, Brine and Warrior Lacrosse, with support from the Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau/Buffalo Niagara Sports Commission, Coaches’ Eye, Blue Bison Sports, Nickel City Sports, Travel Team USA, and Players Sports.

The Lake Erie Showcase & Festival is the largest, most competitive and only college recruited tournament in the Greater Buffalo-Niagara Region.
