2nd Annual Care for the Cure Tournament, Teams Still Needed

West Chester Henderson High School
November 7, 2010

On August 15, 2008 Caroline (Care) Cranston, at 24 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia. In high school, Care played lacrosse for West Chester Henderson and continued her lacrosse career at Duquesne University. Caroline lost her battle May 8, 2010. We continue to fight in Caroline’s name and will never forget the light she shed on all of us.

Each year in the United States, about 2,000 children and 27,000 adults are diagnosed with leukemia. The Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) donates 74% of its funds to cancer research and is currently funding 400 scientists worldwide.

The tournament will be held on five fields at West Chester Henderson High School, including two turf fields. Games will be 50 minutes in duration and played according to U.S. Lacrosse Women’s rules at a cost of $600 per team.

For more information or to sign up your team, please call or email Ryan Cranston.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
