PERRY, N.Y. – Recently graduated Yale University men’s lacrosse players Alirio DeMeireles (Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y.) and James Tjarksen (Hartland, Wisc.) have been named 2015 Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

The USILA Scholar All-America program recognizes student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities.

Both student-athletes received their degrees over the weekend at Commencement. DeMeiereles, a defenseman, majored in ecology & evolutionary biology, while Tjarksen was an economics major.

The pair helped the Bulldogs (11-5), the Ivy League Tournament champions, allow an Ivy-League best 8.13 goals per game.
