NFL Lockout Ends, Chad Ochocinco’s Dream of Professional Lacrosse Comes To a Halt

The flamboyant NFL wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco, has gotten his toes wet in profesional bull riding and soccer since last season. We figured it was only a matter of time until he dabbled in professional lacrosse. Oddly enough, we are in Miami right now and just missed Ochocinco training for what could be his introduction to indoor lacrosse since his MLL shot has passed. A source told us how perplexed Ochocinco’s trainer is about his conditioning and attributes it to lacrosse. The trainer mentioned that if the lockout continues then Ochocinco would give Pro lacrosse a shot. The trainer states:

He’s been playing with Gulliver Prep (Geno and Lucas) kids lately and plans to continue his workouts in the future.

Sadly, the National Football League (NFL) lockout has ended and it isn’t likely Ochocinco will be laxing anytime soon. The NFL and players have agreed to terms to end their four-month-old lockout and ensure America’s most popular sport will go ahead as planned next season. Ochocinco will report to training camp today (Yahoo Sports).

This is a big loss for lacrosse, but at least we don’t have to settle for watching baseball anymore. This may be a blessing in disguise.

Chad isn’t the first NFL star to pick up a stick:

Jets QB Mark Sanchez

Ravens QB Joe Flacco

Chad is not the first NFL player to show up at the Miami Beach Lacrosse League http://www.miamibeachlax.com Shockey is also a frequent vistor to the field, and will play around with the team’s younger members.

lockout will be over in the next day or two (if not next few hours) so it doesn’t sound like Ocho is going to have a lax career of any kind. Sweet Salt Shakerz pinnie, though.
