Make it Take it: Zebra Apparel Shorts Finalists Announced

The great guys at Zebra Apparel will be giving away 25 shorts to the person who has the best design. Last week, we asked you to design an original pair of shorts with the ZA and LPG logo, as well as a few other guidelines.

We were originally only going to select 4 finalists, but because we were so impressed we picked 6! With over 60 designs submitted we have chosen 6 that will move on to compete in the final round. We chose the ones that best exhibited creativity and unique qualities/creepiness. The 6 finalists are listed below.

Now it is your turn to decide! View the designs and vote for the one you think deserves to win. The Poll will close Friday, August 19, 4pm EST. Good luck!

More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.

salty dog should lose because the designers (if you can call them that the design is terrible) obviously have no lives beyond sitting at their computers and voting over and over again

  2. Buigg on August 17, 2011 at 4:20 pm

Just get your friends to vote yall!!! I disagree with some of you about Salty dog. I think they are cool!

  3. Dubstep Bitter on August 17, 2011 at 4:18 pm

The more people vote, the less the percentage will change. As people keep voting the rate of change for the weight of a single vote decreases.  1 out of 10 is 10% but 1 out of 100 is only 1%. and there have probably been over 3000 votes.

Guys, I understand some of your concerns, but we must stay the course. This is our fourth Make it Take it contest and this is our first time hearing your thoughts on the voting process. Next contest, which should be next week, we will make the polling different (1 vote per person). Again, very sorry for those who are upset. We do not purposely mean to hurt your chances of winning free swag. We throw these contests so everyone can have fun while also contributely in a creative fashion and often times win great gear.

In the mean time, I recommend those lagging behind in the votes to make sure all of your friends (and their friends) vote. Good luck!

    • murrhurr on August 17, 2011 at 4:35 pm

I do recall your shooter shirt contest using the same dumb tactics, I mean honestly it’s pretty common sense that if you allow people to vote more than once, people are gonna take advantage of it. Would you be happy if Bush re-ran for president and somehow he got 6 quintillion votes while Obama got 4 million? Same concept.

You guys posted a poll asking what the PUBLIC thought about the entries, not what Salty Dog’s team of autoclickers think.

Now it’s not a matter of whether people win the 25 free shorts or not, but the matter of you guys condoning cheating and DEFENDING it too.

And you wonder why your decal contest ran a bit better (okay, so it is cumbersome to read through thousands of comments, but at least it was more fair) than your shooter shirt contest..

While there is little to nothing I can do to change your mind about this contest, I can only hope you take my words into mind and think before you waste 60-some people’s time with a contest when one entry blatantly cheats.

Oh PS: If you think networking will help with the votes at this point, then clearly you haven’t seen how many votes trigger per SECOND for salty dogs.

      • M019 on August 17, 2011 at 8:45 pm

Isn’t that what Bush did in Florida??

      • sthawk on August 18, 2011 at 11:47 pm

this makes me laugh..political views?! the “oh ps” is a nice flourish, and a fitting way to end this whiney rant.

  5. anonemoose on August 17, 2011 at 9:09 am

the puzzle shorts do not have the lacrosse playground logo on them. should they technically be in  the contest? the rules state that you have to have both the zebra apparel and the lacrosse playground logo for your shorts to be entered… just sayin.

    • Gmenfan on August 17, 2011 at 8:06 pm

Puzzle shorts do infact have the LPG logo on the side of the right leg… when it was transfered from facebook to this page the bottom 1/4 of the shorts were cutoff in this picture

The creater for the Salty dog and puzzle shorts have no lives, they sit there and multiclick the votes to win. Go to Hell cheaters

    • Gmenfan on August 17, 2011 at 5:49 am

Just so you know the reason the puzzle shorts are gaining momentum is because my club team has over 70 members all of which are voting for our shorts. Also we all posted it to facebook so we are able to get our friends and family to vote too. In the end we most likely have over 200 people voting for our shorts. Nothing like good ole team spirit, am I right?

      • Kplange88 on August 17, 2011 at 3:57 pm

salty dogs are in same position, they have a big roster and their roster has a big support group

        • murrhurr on August 17, 2011 at 4:32 pm

big support group as in 10 people autoclicking the votes, then yes, i agree

        • sthawk on August 18, 2011 at 11:49 pm

    • murrhurr on August 17, 2011 at 12:10 pm

      i say re-vote.

  7. sadatay on August 17, 2011 at 4:46 am

There are a lot of sour grapes commenting in here… #justsayin

    • murrhurr on August 17, 2011 at 4:48 am

you’d be really salty if you were a contestant and someone else started cheating their way to free stuff, now wouldn’t you?

      • DISLIKE on August 17, 2011 at 1:44 pm

No murrhurr is right im in the contest as well and i prolly have over 350 some odd votes and i have 3 percent so tell me how that makes sense, and no offense to salty dog but i believe the puzzle, umbc, spongebro, hardshell are way better. CMON LAX PLAYGROUND RE-VOTE AND MAKE A POLL WERE YOU CAN ONLY VOTE ONCE!

      • M019 on August 17, 2011 at 8:49 pm

Do you whine to officials on the field too?  My guess is that every loss your team has is because of the officials.  Right?

        • murrhurr on August 17, 2011 at 10:19 pm

nope 🙂 usually our refs don’t autoclick the other team’s goals

          • M019 on August 18, 2011 at 12:07 pm

What is this auto clicker tangent your on. Nothing automatic just organization and networking. Grow up!!!

          • murrhurr on August 18, 2011 at 8:00 pm

i smell a sore winner, if you’re winning, don’t trample on the competition. people are gonna be salty when they don’t win, it’s instinct. just take your 25 free shorts and call it a day. modesty is quite a rarity, apparently

          • M019 on August 18, 2011 at 12:07 pm

      • M019 on August 20, 2011 at 12:50 pm

Playing by the established rules is not cheating.  Having a strategy is not cheating.  And having a system to work within the rules toward a goal is not cheating.  What is your problem?  No autoclickers (I had to look it up to see what it was), just organization and a lot of friends.  The UMBC and Puzzle shorts are nice, but so is Salty Dogs, and in the end, design and teamwork wins.

  8. doug dutch on August 17, 2011 at 4:45 am

Nice shorts. Good luck to whoever wins.

  9. Acrapella on August 17, 2011 at 2:07 am

seriously thought Lacrosse Playground, it does’t make sense that i started at 18 something percent and now I’m at 3 percent???? no offense to salty dog but they kept getting votes and i kept losing votes

    • M019 on August 18, 2011 at 12:30 pm

So you slept through math class again. You are not losing votes your percent of the total votes in lower because there are more votes coming in and your portion of those votes is not keeping pace.

  10. RiggedContest on August 16, 2011 at 11:49 pm

Salty Dogs definitely using autoclick to cheat the polls.

    • murrhurr on August 16, 2011 at 11:57 pm

voted for umbc two times and salty dogs passed them after 10 minutes.
unbelievable how low people can stoop to get free shorts..

    • M019 on August 18, 2011 at 2:44 pm

No idea what an autoclick is, but this is just organized team effort, all manual labor.  We have friends.  Whining is so unattractive.

  11. Cbell on August 16, 2011 at 11:45 pm

My ec shorts were up then taken down. I feel so bad for the kids. As if 50k a year for tuition wasn’t enough. Throw us a bone…

    • murrhurr on August 16, 2011 at 11:48 pm

sorry to hear that, but this is a contest, and the rules and judges function as though it’s a contest :/

      • Sarah Williamson on August 17, 2011 at 6:09 pm

murrhurr: you are one sour individual. you criticize the people who take the contest seriously AND the ones that wish it was less competitive? you need to stop whining and get a life.

  12. Alyons12345 on August 16, 2011 at 10:49 pm

Just looked up the puzzle shorts on fbook they do have the lacrosse playground logo its on the right leg on the bottom… just got cut off in this pic. They look sweet

  13. murrhurr on August 16, 2011 at 10:14 pm

this is dumb as crap. you can clearly tell people are using multiple autoclickers when their percentage shoots from 2% to 15% in 3 minutes.

honestly i think this contest needs to be set up so only one vote per person counts. not fair to the rest of us who try hard to get people to vote when other entries use 4 people to get hundreds of votes in seconds.

or at least do what LPG did with the decals and make people comment with their vote.

    • M019 on August 18, 2011 at 12:02 pm

No auto clickers, just friends and organization. Quit whining…

  14. Snmira613 on August 16, 2011 at 10:03 pm

the puzzle shorts do not have the lacrosse playground logo on them.

  15. murrhurr on August 16, 2011 at 10:02 pm

salty dogs is pretty low quality.. the ZA logo isn’t even fully cut out, and the white piping looks like someone look the Line tool on Paint and drew it in..

Puzzle and UMBC are legit.  The rest are dogshit.  Terrible selections over all considering some of the great designs they had to choose from.
