St. Paddy’s Chrome

For this issue of Stylin’ Strings Lax Customs we chose a Green Chrome STX Revolver. St. Paddy’s day was months away but we needed a new clover demo for in the shop. The U.S. Lacrosse Convention was coming up so we decided we would take it there as well to show off. We weren’t sure if chrome was a fad that came & gone or if it was here to stay. We keep our eyes open in the industry and have only read how difficult it is to mess with dying chrome. We figured this Green Chrome would be perfect for a trial of one of our signature Clover dyes.

Brie (part time art teacher) and new Dye apprentice under Dustin, had been working for Stylin’ Strings for over 6 months so this was one of her first full custom jobs after she was off of the creative leash. She is also Dustin’s 23 yr. old niece so good chance dyeing sick sticks are in here genes.

As usual dying over chrome was a little tricky but this four-color chrome job revealed a true piece of art. It was only fitting to drop this article a few days after what we call St. Paddy’s Chrome. The stick was picked up by one of our buddy’s from Pro Lax Shops at the convention and taken home to the UK to help spread Stylin’ Strings Customs across the seas.

Stay tuned for more lax dyes & custom string jobs from Dustin, Justin, Brie, Frankie Fingers, and the entire www.stylinstrings.com crew. Also check us out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/StylinStringsLacrosse.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
