Regis College Lacrosse Mourns the Loss of a Friend and Teammate

WESTON, Mass. – Late this afternoon (Thursday), Regis College suffered the loss of senior Michael Kaplan (Braintree, Mass.) and serious injury to sophomore Peter Leighton (Wilmington, Mass.) Members of the Regis College lacrosse team, they were hurt this afternoon riding a motorcycle in Weston.

Father Paul Kilroy and Sister Betsy Conway, CSJ, went immediately to the hospital.

The college community gathered today at 5:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center (FAC) to support one another and to pray for Michael.

Dean Kara Kolomitz and President Antoinette M. Hays are in touch with Michael’s and Peter’s families. Please pray for Michael as he makes his journey to God and pray for Peter’s recovery. We hold their parents and families in our hearts.

As further details become known, the President’s office shall inform the community.
