2013 IWLCA Recruiting Tournaments Sell Out at Record Pace


Elkridge, MD (November 29,2012)– The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced today team registration for both the 2013 IWLCA Champions Cup and Capital Cup high school club lacrosse tournaments sold out in 17 and 13 minutes, respectively.

Both tournaments will feature 264 teams and be contested at the River City Sportsplex in Midlothian, Virginia next summer. The Champions Cup will take place June 21-23 while the Capital Cup will be played July 19-21.

Online registration for the inaugural IWLCA Western Cup (westerncuplax.com) will open on Monday, Dec. 3rd and another sellout is anticipated. Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado will host the new tournament from July 12-14. All IWLCA tournaments next year are open to student-athletes from the graduating classes of 2014-16.

Since forming a partnership with CSE in 2011 the IWLCA has seen the popularity of its recruiting tournaments skyrocket. In addition to witnessing tournament field sizes triple, more college coaches have witnessed game action first hand than ever before. An average of 250 coaches traveled to each IWLCA in 2012, including an association record 424 at the recent deBeer President’s Cup in Naples, Fla.
