Cabrini To Host Philly Lax Cup


RADNOR, Pa. – The Cavalier Lacrosse School will play host to the first annual “Philly Lax Cup”. The event will take place Father’s Day weekend, Friday, June 14 through Sunday, June 16 on the campus of Cabrini College. Par- ticipating in the event will be 12 of the premiere club teams and 12 of the premiere high school teams from the Philadelphia area.

Our area has become a hotbed of lacrosse, producing top DI, DII and DIII prospects. This tournament gives these teams the chance to battle for the “Philly Lax Cup” and bragging rights as the best team in our area. The tourna- ment also presents an opportunity for these players to be recruited by top college programs. Join us in an opportu- nity to stay local “Father’s Day Weekend” and have the chance to be crowned as the best team in our area.

The tournament will guarantee each team three games over the weekend, with a total of five possible. The games will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday evening. Each club team will be playing one game on this day. On Saturday, the club teams will play two games each. At the conclusion of these games, the top four teams will play in the semi-finals fol- lowed by the championship on the stadium field. This game will determine who will be crowned as the “Philly Lax Cup” Champion.

Starting Saturday night, the high school tournament will begin. Again, each team will play three games over the weekend, with a total of five games possible. The games will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. Each team will play one game Saturday night. On Sunday, the teams will play a guaranteed two games.

At the conclusion of these games, the top four teams will play in the semi-finals followed by the championship on the stadium field. This game will determine who will be crowned as the “Philly Lax Cup” Champion.
