Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra University Department of Athletics is excited to announce that Verizon FiOS1 will broadcast 14 regular season Hofstra men’s and women’s lacrosse games this season.

These broadcasts will air on a tape delay basis (and also on-demand) on FiOS1 Long Island, FiOS1 New Jersey and FiOS1 DC.

“We are thrilled to continue our outstanding relationship with Verizon FiOS1,” commented Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway. “The ability to showcase 14 Hofstra lacrosse games throughout the Mid-Atlantic region is a tremendous asset for our lacrosse programs and the entire University.”

“We are extremely thankful to Verizon FiOS1 for their continued support of both out Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Programs,” said Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Seth Tierney. “Hofstra University, as well as our Athletic Department, have always done anything and everything they could to promote all of our teams. We are very fortunate to have all of our home games televised, as it is invaluable to be in so many homes during the spring season.”

“Our program is really excited to have our home games aired on FiOS1 during the upcoming 2013 season,” stated Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Shannon Smith. “This is a great way to grow the sport of women’s lacrosse, while also displaying the tremendous program we are building here at Hofstra. This amazing opportunity will allow people to see the phenomenal facilities we offer our student-athletes.”
