Laying The Lumber With Gordon Glass, Turkey Lacrosse’s Newest Addition

(February 12, 2013) – Turkey Lacrosse’s latest addition is Gordon Glass, a lifetime sports fanatic and North American lumber expert originally from Quebec. Gordon will be filling the role of Managing Director of Education and Training.

At Bishop’s University in Quebec, Gordon lettered in football, hockey, and tennis, and was named male athlete of the year in 1969. Gordon is the co-founder of Gateway Lacrosse in Northeast Ohio, a youth lacrosse instruction group that places an emphasis on fun, fundamentals, and character development. His passion for instruction and his interest in the positive attitudes and behaviors that lacrosse helps to develop make him perfect for his position with Turkey Lacrosse.

“Lacrosse is a fantastic sport because it can be learned in little time. It isn’t like other sports that take years to learn,” says Gordon. “I believe that lacrosse is unique from other sports in that it generates a great amount of good will, and lacks a lot of the belligerency that other sports sometimes advocate. Simply put, lacrosse is fun, and I think this will be an easy message to convey to Turkey.”

“We look forward to Gordon bringing his ideology of lacrosse as a spreader of good will and friendship tool to Turkey Lacrosse,” says founder and Executive Director of Turkey Lacrosse, Patrick Dougherty. “His emphasis on fun and fundamentals will no doubt be a fantastic addition to our organization.”

Some of you may have met Gordon at the U.S. Lacrosse Convention last month in Philadelphia. Gordon was there spreading the word about Turkey Lacrosse and was pleased by the responses of those that he spoke with. It seems that Turkey Lacrosse’s mission is a goal that everybody can get behind.

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
