Detroit-Michigan Game Officially Cancelled

ANN ARBBOR, Mich. (4/18/2013) — With the weather still unpredictable for today, the Detroit-Michigan men’s lacrosse game at Michigan Stadium that was suspended yesterday was officially cancelled this morning.

Detroit led 4-3 with 6:32 left in the second period when the second lightning delay of the game sent the teams to the locker room. With the storm never letting up, the call was made to suspend the game with the hopes of resuming it in the future, but it will now go down as cancelled.

The game was tied at 3-3 in the second period at the 11:36 mark when lightning stopped play the first time.

Detroit will now get ready for its final non-conference game of the year when it visits first-year program Marquette on Saturday, Apr. 20. It is the first home game for the Golden Eagles and it will be played at Hart Park with first faceoff slated for 8:00 (ET).
