SiriusXM Launches New Lacrosse Show Leading Up to 2013 NCAA® Division I Men’s Lacrosse Semifinals and Championship

NEW YORK – May 7, 2013 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that it will launch a new weekly show dedicated to covering college lacrosse.

Inside College Lacrosse, hosted by former two-time NCAA Most Outstanding Player Casey Powell and college lacrosse expert Paul Mittermeier will debut tonight, May 7, and air Tuesdays at 8:00 pm ET on SiriusXM College Sports Nation (channel 91 on satellite radios, on the SiriusXM Internet Radio App and online at SiriusXM.com). The show will air weekly leading up to and through the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship and will feature Powell discussing the nation’s best teams and players with listeners nationwide.

One of the most decorated players in the history of college lacrosse, Casey Powell was a three-time First Team All-American attackman and midfielder for Syracuse University and helped the Orange win the 1995 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship. During his college career he was named the Division I Most Outstanding Player two years in a row (1997, 1998) and was selected for the NCAA All-Tournament Team each of his four years at Syracuse. Powell was also honored with the Division I National Attackman of the Year award (1998) and Division I National Midfielder of the Year award (1996) and was named to Lacrosse Magazine’s All-Century team.

Powell went on to have an exceptional professional career in both the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Major League Lacrosse (MLL), where he was a multi-year All-Star in both leagues. He currently plays for the Colorado Mammoth of the NLL.

“Lacrosse is a fast-growing sport in the U.S., with participation having increased exponentially in recent years,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer. “With the passion for the sport growing, SiriusXM has the ability to deliver a level of coverage of the game that other media outlets cannot. This month, our listeners will get live play-by-play featuring some of the country’s best college lacrosse teams plus a show where they can call in and talk lacrosse with one of the sport’s iconic stars in Casey Powell.”

SiriusXM will broadcast the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Semifinals and Championship games live from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, on Saturday, May 25, and Monday, May 27. Live play-by-play of each matchup, plus pre- and post-match coverage, will air on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 91.
