Greg Griffo Becomes Tampa’s First Lacrosse All-American, Full Division II All-American List Included

TAMPA, Fla. – University of Tampa men’s lacrosse standout Greg Griffo has been named an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Coaching Association (USILA). He becomes the first player in program history to earn the honor.

Griffo, a senior from Babylon, N.Y., recently concluded his Spartan career as the team’s leading scorer. In 16 games, he netted 28 goals and 10 assists, including a pair of game-winning goals. He registered at least one points in 14 games this season. His top performance was a four goal, two assist performance against Saint Leo in the Deep South Conference semifinals.

As a two-year letterwinner, Griffo has led Tampa in scoring in each of the program’s first two seasons. He has been part of a pair of DSC regular season championship teams as the Spartans have notched a total of 22 wins over the past two years.
