RoughRiders Add to Coaching Staff


Elkridge, Md. (August 29th , 2013)– The Maryland RoughRider high school and youth club lacrosse program announced today the addition of four new coaches to the program headlined by former University of Maryland and MLL standout Brian Reese. In addition to Coach Reese, Eric Diprospero, Jon Robinson, and Matt Warner will join the coaching staff. The RoughRider program will begin tryouts for the Spring/Summer 2014 teams September 8th.

Lee Corrigan, director of the RoughRider program and head coach of its Elite team, said, “We are honored to have this group of men joining our already dedicated staff. The Roughrider program has grown leaps and bounds over the last six years and it is a testament to our coaches.”

Coach Brian Reese brings over 15 years of coaching experience to the RoughRiders organization from all levels of lacrosse including professionally where he was named Coach of the Year in 2009. As a player Brian was an All-Metro selection at the St. Paul’s School, and later went on to be an All-American and team captain at the University of Maryland. In 2002, Brian helped the Baltimore Bayhawks capture to the MLL crown.

Eric Diprospero, a recent graduate of Johns Hopkins, will be coaching the RoughRiders at the High School 2016 age group. Eric was named captain his senior year and anchored the defense for the Blue Jays. Jon Robinson, a local product of Howard County and the current head coach at Wilde Lake will head a 2017 team and be assisted by Matt Warner. Coach Warner was a standout at Mt. St. Mary’s being named 2005 MAAC Player of the Year.

The RoughRiders will field two teams at each of the high school graduating classes of 2015, 2016, and 2017, and U11, U13, and U15 at the youth level. The RoughRider program is a member of the NSCLA (National Scholastic Club Lacrosse Association) which consists of the top high school and youth club teams in the country, joining together and competing in one division.
