UCLA to Host Fall Shooting Clinics with MLL Star Matt Gibson

After a successful 2013 Bruins Lax Summer Camp, UCLA Men’s Lacrosse has announced it will be hosting a Fall Shooting Clinic series with 2012 MLL Rookie of the Year Matt Gibson.

The clinics, which will occur every Sunday in October, also will feature coaching from UCLA Head Coach Jacques Bagley, who has spent more than six years as assistant coach and assistant general manager to the US Indoor National Team, in addition to his seven-plus years with the Bruins. Bruins Assistant Coach Ben Bitonti also will be coaching the clinics, along with current UCLA players.

The clinics will focus on improving shooting fundamentals and techniques: Shooting on the run, increased accuracy, increased velocity, finishing inside and how to create your own shot. It is designed for intermediate and advanced players ages 13-18 to refine their shooting style and advance their game. Cost is $195 for the four-week session.

Registration can be completed online here.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
