World Lacrosse Festivals 2014 Registration Open


BALTIMORE, Sept. 18, 2013 — US Lacrosse has opened registration at worldlacrosse2014.com/festivals for boys’ and men’s teams to compete in the 2014 World Lacrosse Festivals, set for July 10-19 in Denver. The festivals run alongside the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Men’s World Championships, also hosted by US Lacrosse at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

The festivals are open to teams from around the world. Age divisions and dates of play are:

U11: July 10-12, 2014

U13: July 13-15, 2014

U15: July 13-15, 2014

U17: July 10-12, 2014

Elite: July 16-18, 2014

30-and-Over: July 16-19, 2014

35-and-Over: July 16-19, 2014

40-and-Over: July 16-19, 2014

45-and-Over: July 16-19, 2014

50-and-Over: July 16-19, 2014

55-and-Over: July 16-19, 2014

60-and-Over: July 18, 2014

“The lacrosse community continues to grow around the world, and we are proud to welcome domestic and international teams to compete in the World Lacrosse Festivals while taking in the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the FIL World Championships,” said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. “The 10 days in Denver represent a unique opportunity for teams of all ages to experience the best of lacrosse and to strengthen many of the bonds that hold lacrosse fans so close.”

The team registration fee is $1,950 ($500 for 60-and-over teams). Each player also will pay a $50 participation fee that includes admission to World Championship games during their festival playing dates. Players and coaches on domestic teams must be members of US Lacrosse.

Through Dec. 1, 2013, US Lacrosse also is accepting applications for World Lacrosse Festival officials. In addition to compensation, all World Lacrosse Festival officials will receive one full event pass for the 2014 FIL World Championships.

The FIL World Championships are expected to draw a record 40 nations. Hundreds of boys’ and men’s club teams will join them for the World Lacrosse Festivals.
