Stage set for 2014 MLL All-Star Game this Thursday June 26

BOSTON (June 24, 2014) – The 2014 MLL All-Star Game will take place this Thursday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Historic Harvard Stadium. Tickets are still available for the event and can be found HERE or by calling 617-746-9933.

This year, 24 MLL All-Stars will take on 31 players on Team USA as they finalize their roster in advance of the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Denver in July.

The game will be televised live nationally on CBS Sports Network and internationally in over 175 U.S. territories including U.S. military installations, U.S. embassies and U.S. consulates, via the American Forces Network.

This is the third time the All-Star Game serves as a tune up match for Team USA. In 2006, the MLL All-Stars dropped an 18-10 decision to Team USA at Nickerson Field in Boston, while in the last World Championship cycle, in 2010, Team USA edged the All-Stars 13-12 at Harvard Stadium.

The MLL All-Star Game Fan Zone, a mainstay at all MLL events, will open at 5:00 p.m. where fans will get to visit with several League partners as well as purchase exclusive MLL All-Star apparel. Fans will not want to miss their chance to participate in the Warrior Rabil Challenge, a mobile unit, which travels around the country and clocks fastest shots from fans of all ages. The fan that lights up the radar with quickest shot during the 5-7 p.m. window will be invited to take the field with the All-Stars at halftime and compete in the official 2014 Fastest Shot Competition.

Another mainstay of the MLL All-Star Game is the postgame auction. This year, MLL supports the Wounded Warrior Project, one of the leading support organizations for veterans and service members whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors, as the official charity of the 2014 MLL All-Star Game. The special edition jerseys worn during the game will be autographed by Team MLL, and, along with select Team MLL helmets, will later be auctioned to the public, with all net proceeds donated to WWP. The New Balance Foundation will generously match the auction net total raised, and a final check will be presented to Wounded Warrior Project at the MLL Championship Game in Kennesaw, GA, August 23.
