After Winning Ivy Title, Harvard Men’s Lacrosse Adds 12 for 2015

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Chris Wojcik ’96, The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Lacrosse, has announced the addition of 12 incoming freshman for the 2015 season.

“We are happy to welcome our freshmen to the Harvard Lacrosse family as they arrive on campus today,” Chris Wojcik ’96, The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Lacrosse, stated. “Twelve young men join our program, representing seven states and Washington D.C.  The incoming class is an accomplished group, well prepared to begin the next chapter of their lives at Harvard.  We expect the class of 2018 to make a significant contribution to our program as we begin preparations for the 2015 season.”

Harvard is coming off a banner year in which is captured the program’s first Ivy League championship in 24 years and received an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament. The Crimson will return 28 letterwinners from last season’s squad, including USILA All-American’s Bobby Duvnjak and Devin Dwyer.

Earned three varsity letters in lacrosse, two in soccer and two in basketball … Captained lacrosse, soccer and basketball teams as a senior … Named first team All-State, All-Inter-Ac, All-Delco and All-Main Line in lacrosse in 2013 … Also played club lacrosse for Mesa Fresh 2014 and Dukes LC.

Morgan Cheek | Midfielder | 6-1 | 200 | Wellesley, Mass. | Noble and Greenough
Four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Noble and Greenough … Captained lacrosse team senior year … As a senior, named US Lacrosse All-American, ISL Player of the Year and The Boston Globe All-Scholastic … Named first team All-ISL three straight years … Two-time Arnold Bowl recipient for overall contribution to the team … Led Noble and Greenough in scoring as a sophomore, junior and senior … Played club lacrosse for Laxachusetts Lacrosse … Also earned four varsity letters in soccer and helped the team to back-to-back ISL Championships in 2010 and 2011 … Captained soccer team senior year … Named a NEPSAC Senior All-Star and first team All-ISL in 2013, and was awarded the Weiss Bowl for effort and contribution to the team … Led the soccer team in scoring as a sophomore, junior and senior … Mother, Charlotte Joslin ’90, was the first female athlete in Ivy League history to earn First Team All-Ivy honors in three unrelated sports – field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse – and helped Harvard’s women’s lacrosse team to its first national championship in 1990 … Father, Leslie Cheek IV ’88, played JV hockey at Harvard and grandfather, Jim Joslin ’57, earned three varsity letters in football … Grandfather, Leslie Cheek III ’63, also graduated from the College.
