The Red Foxes joined in events for several local charities to support causes within the Hudson Valley as well as outside the local community. DETROIT -- Sophomore Joel Matthews (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) scored just one goal on the day, but it made all the difference as Detroit won 8-7 in overtime on Saturday against Marist. In August, the Marist community mourned the loss of Edward Coombs, a rising sophomore on the Men’s lacrosse team. Coombs, 19, lost his life in a car accident in his hometown of Horsham Township, Pa. Those closest to him called him Eddie and he was well-liked by everyone.
