Since 2008, the California Gold Invitational has been regarded as the top high school invitational recruiting event in the West for the individual player. Today, the lacrosse players received custom Nike Huarache III cleats. The cleats are Black with Volt accents on the heel, tongue and upper. Now this is what they call Black Gold!
A follower of LPG on Twitter just sent us this image. Apparently Syracuse will be playing in these Nike Huarache cleats during the NCAA Quarterfinals. It is not a defnite, but we are 99% certain that they are. These cleats are the same Virginia Lacrosse will be wearing and we believe they are the new Huarache cleats from Nike. The colorway is Orange with Safety Yellow.

Cali Gold Invitational just wrapped up another successful camp out on the Left Coast. Sponsored by Nike, the players attending the camp all received Nike Air Huarache III cleats. Nike Lacrosse tweeted news that the public can now customize Huarache IV cleats on their website. One LPG reader also pointed us to the new customization feature. "Nikeid finally made a custom option for the Huarache! Some sick chrome and fade options available, but they are missing a few common lacrosse colors like Maroon and Carolina Blue. Great price point too, less than a stock pair of highlights or most Nike lows."
