The Armistice that ended World War I was signed 91 years ago today, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Today, we honor the 25 million veterans in the United States today, the countless who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of freedom and the 400,000 who are deployed overseas.

There are a lot of numbers being thrown around but the most important number today is one. To be as one, united on this day regardless of race, religion or belief…and what better way to be united than through lacrosse?

Many that have served and currently serve America have a lacrosse background, and it makes perfect sense. The qualities that are required to be a lacrosse player are the same ones it takes to be an ambassador for the United States and a leader on the foreign battlefronts.

Take a moment to give thanks to those who have sacrificed for us and enjoy some of these lacrosse clips:

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
