GLENSIDE, PA. – Arcadia University Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Drew Delaney announced that Franc Cook and Doug Miller will be joining the coaching staff for the 2012-13 season.
“I am pleased to welcome Franc and Doug to the Arcadia lacrosse family,” said Delaney. “They each bring a unique perspective that will be insightful for our student-athletes and crucial in establishing our program as a contender in the MAC-Freedom Conference.”

Cook comes to Glenside after an outstanding career as a goaltender at Lynchburg College in Virginia. During his career, Cook earned a record of 50-15 over four seasons as the starting keeper. A two-time All-America and ODAC Goalie of the Year honoree, Cook was also recognized as a Scholar All-American in his senior season. He represented Lynchburg in the 2012 USILA North/South All-Star game and was also a member of Lynchburg’s ODAC Championship team in 2012.

“Franc will be a great asset to our players and staff. He is an accomplished student-athlete that excelled in the classroom, while competing at the highest level of Division III lacrosse. Franc will be an excellent resource and role model for our young team and I look forward to working with him.”

Miller brings tremendous experience to the Arcadia sidelines. He joins the coaching staff after working the past year with Arcadia’s club lacrosse program, under the direction of Delaney. Miller has coached at nearly every level of the sport, spending time in the college ranks with Chestnut Hill College men’s team and the women’s teams at Haverford College, La Salle University, and Swarthmore College. Miller has also worked at a number of high school programs in the Philadelphia area over the last twenty years.

“Doug has been a great help over the last year, working with the club team and being a resource for me. His experience working at Chestnut Hill, in their first year as a program, has brought me a lot of insight. Beyond that, Doug brings great experience and is capable of coaching every position, which is a huge asset for our staff and players.

Arcadia University men’s lacrosse enters its first season of competition at the Division III level in 2012-13. The program will compete in its first-ever event by participating in the 6th Annual Nick Colleluori Classic to benefit the Headstrong Foundation. The Knights will play Stockton College and Chestnut Hill College on October 7. Arcadia Lacrosse will play all their home games on the new Easton turf field and will be competing in Warrior Lacrosse equipment and apparel, the team’s official sponsor.
