Army Lacrosse Youth Clinic Draws 350-Plus Players

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Foley Athletic Center was buzzing with youth lacrosse last Sunday, Jan. 22, as more than 350 area players took part in the Army lacrosse team’s free clinic. In its fifth year of existence, the clinic drew a record crowd to the state-of-the-art indoor facilities.

Current Army players and coaches put the players through skill sessions and drills for more than five hours of workouts.

“Our guys look forward to hosting this clinic every year,” said seventh-year head coach Joe Alberici. “It’s exciting that this was our largest one yet. It’s also an opportunity for our players to give back, as well as a chance for area youngsters to learn from some top-level Division I players.”

No. 22 Army opens the 2012 season in two weeks when the Black Knights host No. 18 Massachusetts on Friday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. Army will play its first three games and seven overall in the friendly confines of Michie Stadium.

Tickets for the 2012 lacrosse season, which features seven home games, can be purchase online at www.goARMYsports.com, by calling 1-877-TIX-ARMY or by visiting the Army Ticket Office located inside the Holleder Center.
