Atlanta’s Best To Face Off At Halftime Of Southern Showdown’s UNC v. UMASS Game

BROOKLYN, NY – Players from the Atlanta area will not only be able to watch some of the best players in the country face off at the 2013 Southern Showdown, but will be able to compete for the chance to play in front of the thousands of fans in attendance themselves. Trilogy Lacrosse and Under Armour will host a 3-on-3 tournament for boys’ lacrosse players in grades 1 through 12 on Kennesaw State University’s campus from 8am to 11am on Saturday February 16, 2013 leading up to the NCAA match. The finalists from each division will square off at half time of the UNC vs. UMass game with the champions being crowned at midfield. Winners will all receive Trilogy Lacrosse and Under Armour prize packs including brand new Under Armour Charge Heads as well as access to the Trilogy Lacrosse game suite for the second half.

“We are excited to bring our world class National Directors and team to what is known as one of the best lacrosse events in the South,” said Trilogy Lacrosse Director of Marketing, Mitch Belisle. “Youth players will be afforded the opportunity to watch some of the top collegiate players from UMass and UNC, compete in a fun event with their teammates and meet some of the best professional lacrosse players in the world, who also happen to be incredible role models and teachers.”

Each team will consist of three players and a goalie that will compete in one of three divisions. The high school division will include grades 9 through 12, the middle school division grades 5 through 8 and the youth division grades 1 through 4. All games will be played “braveheart style” with a faceoff and sudden death victory upon the first score. At 11am, the top 8 teams at each division will advance to the playoffs. The finalists from each division will then match up for the finals on the KSU Stadium field during the halftime break of the NCAA contest.

Players can pre-register online for free by visiting www.trilogylacrosse.com/SouthernShowdown. Online registration will close at noon on Wednesday February 13, 2013.
