Park Ridge, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced today that men’s and women’s lacrosse will become the conference’s 27th and 28th official sports and that Johns Hopkins University has been accepted as a sport affiliate member for men’s lacrosse only beginning with the 2014-15 academic year. BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels announced today that the Blue Jay men’s lacrosse team has been accepted by the Big Ten Conference as a sport affiliate member. The announcement comes on the same day that the Big Ten announced the addition of men’s lacrosse as an official conference sport. Big Ten play is scheduled to begin during the 2015 season. Southern Virginia University Athletic Director Scott Y. Doxey today announced that Jason Lamb—one of the most accomplished and well-known coaches in both collegiate and international lacrosse—will become the university’s first-ever director of lacrosse effective immediately. Lamb comes to Southern Virginia from the University of Notre Dame, where he has served as director of operations for men’s lacrosse since February 2012. During Lamb’s two seasons at Notre Dame, The Fighting Irish reached the NCAA Division I Championship semifinal and quarterfinal rounds in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Read More…

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team will move to the BIG EAST Conference for immediate competition for the 2014 season, it was announced today. Denver will join members Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, St. John’s and Villanova, as well as Rutgers, who will remain with the league for one season. Read More…
