If there’s one word to describe the 2013 NCAA men’s lacrosse season, it’s unpredictability. That was certainly on display this weekend at Lincoln Financial Field. Coming into the weekend, a strong argument could be made that Cornell and Denver were the favorites to advance to Monday’s Championship Game, but in the end, it was Duke and Syracuse that prevailed. Lehigh women’s lacrosse senior Anna Patterson: changing the world


Lehigh women’s lacrosse senior Anna Patterson had the experience of a lifetime this summer, following in the footsteps of fellow Mountain Hawks Erica Prosser (women’s basketball), Jessica Miller (field hockey), Angelo DiGiacinto (men’s swimming) and Liz Lucas (softball) who all traveled abroad with SALSC over the past three years. Lehigh junior attackmen David DiMaria and Dante Fantoni went to high school less than a mile from each other on Long Island. While DiMaria was tearing it up for Half Hollows Hills West, Fantoni was doing the same for St. Anthony’s. Little did they know that in the near future, the two would complement each other as one of the nation’s top collegiate scoring duos. BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a preseason scrimmage against each other Saturday, head coaches Kevin Cassese of Lehigh and Brian Dougherty of Chestnut Hill will be joining forces Sunday when the two friends coach the U.S. National Team in the Champion Challenge. After the Mountain Hawks and Griffins squared off, the two hopped in a car for the Philadelphia airport.
