Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: ‘Bring on the Terps’

The privilege of playing lacrosse together still at this point in May is also special in its own right, but again by no means any source of complacency. A new opponent, a new opportunity, and a plethora of new naysayers are on the horizon. As has been the case since the days of my recruitment to Lehigh, though, the more that people predict us to lose, the more motivated (and more likely) we are to win. Bring on the Terps, bring on the NCAA Tournament, bring on the doubt…bring on whatever and I’m confident that it will only make this Lehigh lacrosse family stronger in the end. Read More…

Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: The Time Has Come

At the end of the day, success breeds complacency but complacency has never bred success. For the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, tomorrow night’s game is the only one that means anything in the grand scheme of things. The time has come to make this season truly significant for the legacy of our program. The time has come to earn the rings we’ve been chasing all along. Read More…

Thinking back to HBO’s “24/7” series this winter, I remember watching the New York Rangers come into their locker room after a win listening to Flo Rida’s lyrics, “Ohh ohh sometimes, I get a good feeling.” As I walked back into our locker room on Saturday, it’s safe to say that I got a good feeling as well. It’s been a while since I had to write about a loss in this blog. I guess I should consider that a positive thing, but I’d be lying to myself if I thought it was that easy to find personal closure in the face of defeat. Going forward, the only attainable closure in this type of situation can be found through hard work: by working harder in practice than you did in the previous week. Read More…

Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: #Good2Great

On Thursday night of last week, our travel squad hit the road for Annapolis, with a tough Navy team waiting for us on the other side. We got into our hotel pretty late, so there wasn’t much to do other than go to sleep and rest up for the following day. Reminiscent of my prep school days, Coach Wilson came around and checked everyone in…one of his many versatile roles as an assistant coach. Read More…

To all my loyal readers out there, I apologize in advance if this isn’t my most in-depth post of the year. It’s been a busy week for our team (as they all are), and a midterm week for all Lehigh students on top of that. The obligations of being a “student-athlete” are never more demanding than in weeks like this. Studying becomes far more of a time commitment than even lacrosse for most. Since I’m sure no one out there wants to read about what I’ve learned in Corporate Finance, I’ll try my best to fill everyone in on what’s been happening on the field. Read More…

Excitement has come naturally to the Lehigh lacrosse program as of late. As I mentioned last week, I’ve never seen the kind of energy and enthusiasm from our team that I do now. Guys are learning first hand that winning, unlike losing, is easy to handle, and excitement about Lehigh lacrosse, in turn, continues to compound. Read More…

Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: Hype Train Through Bethlehem

It’s week 7 now, and the hype train continues to run through Bethlehem. With our team coming off a monumental spring break trip, the Yale game on Sunday was an opportunity to keep the momentum going. On the other hand, though, it had the potential to completely derail the buzz surrounding our program with a loss, an outcome a lot of people probably expected for us. Read More…

Spring Break 2012 – no regrets. Year in and year out, everyone in the college community looks forward to the time in early March when school breaks. Most students head to the tropics. College lacrosse teams have a different agenda, though. This year, our Lehigh team hit the road with no drinks, no girls…nothing but a looming game against the #4 team in the nation: the UNC Tar Heels. Read More…

Not much can be said about our performance on Saturday against a visiting Villanova team. Disappointing, frustrating, embarrassing…all fitting words to describe the outcome of the game. With the amount of excitement and opportunism that flourished in practice last week, to come out and lose the way we did was discouraging to say the least. In discouraging times like these, though, there’s only one thing a team can do…move forward. Read More…
