Cal Berkeley Women’s Lacrosse: You Can’t Put A Price On Dreams

Cal Berkeley Women’s Lacrosse: You Can’t Put A Price On Dreams

Here’s a few Verdict photos that are accompanying a tragic story in the Feb issue of US Lacrosse Magazine. I was asked to photograph Cal Berkeley Women’s Lacrosse who had just found out that funding has been cut for their team and they were entering their last year as a varsity squad.

Warhol Inspired Pictures of Eric Martin

These shots come from a recent USA Indoor promo shoot with defenseman, Eric Martin. We were able to have all four of Eric’s team jerseys and helmets on hand for the shoot so we put together this ‘Warhol-like’ poster to show the many faces of ‘E-Mart.’ It was our first collaboration since our US Lacrosse Mag cover last year and we wanted to do something kinda cool.

‘Unofficial’ Easton Product Shots

‘Unofficial’ Easton Product Shots

As Easton Lacrosse draws nearer to their product release date, they have hit up Verdict Photography for a few shoots and idears on how to manage their aesthetic. As a photographer / visual idea guy, it is my job to present them with a whole bunch of stuff to look at in order to determine what direction to head visually. Some stuff works, other stuff ends up on the cutting room floor. Here are some examples of some photos that, while pretty cool, got left behind in the editing process.

J. Serra High School Photo Shoot

J. Serra High School Photo Shoot

Recently I was commissioned to shoot some photos for J. Serra High School located out here in the Bay Area. As lacrosse is spreading across the country some schools out west are getting it right. The photo shoot was conceived to gain some attention from it’s student athletes for the school’s new lacrosse program.

Game Photos: Notre Dame vs. Johns Hopkins

The second annual ‘San Fran Fall Lacrosse Classic’ featured an amazing game between two powerhouses in Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame live and direct from Kezar Stadium (the former home of such teams like the San Francisco Dragons and 49′ers) in front of close to 5,000 spectators. Photos from the game after the jump.

Game Photos: Easton, San Fran Fall Lacrosse Classic

This past weekend was a special treat for the San Francisco lacrosse community. The great minds at Easton Lacrosse (Doug Appleton & Blake and Cort Kim) sponsored a clinic for the kids on the field before the game that had tomorrow’s stars getting hands on teaching from ND and JHU players.

2011 Indoor Lacrosse World Team and Flow Society Photoshoot

After my stint on the ’07 World Team I have decided to take a more back seat roll as the head of media for the 2011 Team headed to Prague….I was recently sent a bunch of product to shoot for the USIL website. After the normal product shots were done I decided to throw some Verdict flair into the shoot…My boy Steve Panarelli tossed me some Flow Society gear and I decided to add it to the shoot as well. I heard that some of these pics might make it to a poster or catalog, but for right now they’re yours to enjoy.

Golden Gate Bridge Photoshoot with Eric Martin

Golden Gate Bridge Photoshoot with Eric Martin

Earlier this spring I was contacted by US Lacrosse Magazine to shoot their first ever ‘West Coast’ cover featuring good friend and former teammate, Eric Martin. ‘EMart’ as we call him, was just named to Team USA (who just won gold a few weeks back) and was down for giving the magazine an ‘edgier’ shoot than maybe they were used to.
