Bellarmine Lacrosse Adds Mitchell to Lacrosse Staff

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine University Lacrosse Coach Kevin Burns has announced the addition of Jim Mitchell to his coaching staff. Mitchell will coordinate recruiting as well as coach goalies and defense.

“We are very excited to welcome Jim Mitchell to our team here at Bellarmine,” said Burns. “He brings a great deal of experience that will benefit both the players and our staff. “

Mitchell comes to Bellarmine after most recently serving one year as an assistant at Duke University. He also has coaching experience at Goucher College and Roanoke College.

“Jim has worked under some great coaches in his career such as John Danowski at Duke and Bill Pilat at Roanoke,” Burns said. “Due to his past successes at Duke, Roanoke and Goucher, I have asked him to take over the man-down defense while helping game-plan on both sides of the ball. I look forward to working with Jim to move our program forward here at Bellarmine.”

Mitchell is a graduate of St. Mary’s (Md.), where he played midfielder and served as captain his senior year.
