Bellarmine Prepares for Annual ‘Battle of the Sexes’ Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University lacrosse team will play their annual “Battle of the Sexes” game with the University of Louisville women’s lacrosse team this Sunday at 6:00 PM at UL’s Lacrosse Stadium.

The game is free of charge, but donations will be accepted at the gate. Money raised will be split between the two program’s and go to a donation of their choosing. Bellarmine will be donating their portion to the Black Jack Foundation for prostate cancer research and awareness. The Black Jack Foundation was created in memory of former Bellarmine lacrosse coach Jack McGetrick, who helped start the program at Bellarmine before losing his battle with cancer last October.

Louisville will be donating their proceeds to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in support of Emily Beck. The Cardinals adopted Beck, a young cancer patient, as part of the Friends of Jaclyn program several years ago.

Prior to the game, there will be a free lacrosse clinic for boys and girls from 5:30-6:00.

More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
