“Boathouse’s commitment to help us grow our program is tremendous,” said co-founder John Christmas. “We’re excited to be able to provide our teams with Boathouse apparel and are very fortunate to have them assist us in generating the capital we need to continue to grow our program. The benefit to Philadelphia and our players is hard to put into words.”

LEAPS (Lacrosse, Education, Attitude, Perseverance and Success) is a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of under served youth throughout the greater Philadelphia area through their participation in the sport of lacrosse. Currently, LEAPS has been impacting the lives of Philadelphia youth with free weekly lacrosse clinics and nutritional instruction. In the Summer of ’09, LEAPS will also offer lacrosse camps at brand new turf fields throughout the Philadelphia area through its relationship with the School District of Philadelphia.

“The Philadelphia area has always been a hot bed of lacrosse,” said Mike Fine, Marketing Director for Boathouse Sports. “We are confident that through our support of the LEAPS Foundation those kids who in the past might not have had the opportunity to experience the sport of lacrosse will be able to realize their true potential as athletes, students and as active members of society as a whole. John and Eric are the ideal coaches and role models to help grow the sport of lacrosse in Philadelphia and change the lives of numerous kids.”

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
