Brine Inks Loyola University to Five-Year Deal

Warren, Mich. – Brine, an industry leader in creating innovative lacrosse gear, has signed a five-year official equipment supplier agreement with the Loyola University Men’s Lacrosse team. The Greyhounds will take the field using the latest Brine sticks, handles and protective equipment as part of the agreement.

“Loyola University has a rich history as an elite lacrosse program and Charley Toomey is one of the top coaches in the game,” said Mark Millon, Director of Sports Marketing at Brine. “He is not only a great coach but does a lot with lacrosse in the community and we couldn’t be happier to work with him and the Greyhounds for another five years.”

The Greyhounds, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the 17th time in school history in 2010, posted a 9-5 record, including a 6-1 mark in the ECAC. Loyola has reached the NCAA Tournament three times in the last four seasons.

“We are very happy to continue our relationship with Brine,” Toomey said. “They have been a great partner for the Loyola men’s lacrosse program over the last two years. Brine’s products and equipment are innovative and they align with our values at Loyola. We look forward to a long-term relationship with a company that we deem as the leader in the industry.”

Loyola finished the 2010 season ranked 11th in the USILA Coaches Poll and 12th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. On April 26, the Greyhounds were ranked sixth in the nation, marking their highest national ranking since 2002 when they were No. 5.

Toomey has led the Greyhounds to a 38-30 record in his five seasons as the Greyhounds coach. In addition, he has led the Greyhounds to a 28-7 ECAC record. He was named as the ECAC Coach of the Year in 2006 and has coached six All-Americans in his five-year tenure at Loyola.
