Building Blocks Lacrosse Summer Camps To Benefit Friends Of Jaclyn

Building Blocks Lacrosse (BBL) is a local, year round academy that offers training in both Gillette and West Orange, while headquartered in downtown Madison, NJ. As the only academy in NJ with a specialized player development program, they offer classes for students from beginner to D1 lacrosse players.

This year their diverse summer camp offerings for novices to elite level players have been expanded to seven weeks and are offered in four different locations. More importantly, they will be partnering with The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FOJ) for the week of July 7th. A portion of the proceeds from camp sign-ups will be donated to FOJ to further their mission of fostering awareness of pediatric brain tumors and improving the quality of life for the children suffering from them.

“FOJ is an organization that some of our players are aware of since many college sport teams from around the country “adopt” a FOJ child for their team. At BBL we think that it is very important for all of our players, both academy students and elite travel team members, to think of others. By partnering with FOJ, we are providing the community with a fun way to learn more about the game of lacrosse while helping a good cause” explained Andrew Hubschmann, founder of BBL.

On the last day of camp, the BBL campers will trade camp pinnies with children from FOJ in exchange for FOJ T-shirts. Campers will also have the chance to win special prizes and learn more about this special organization. BBL is very excited that Jaclyn will be coming for a visit.

Just this month she found out that Upper Deck wanted to create her very own “Heroic Inspirations” trading card. She will be bringing some of those cards to share with the BBL campers.

BBL summer camps are unique in that they do not just offer generic camps by grade. Instead, players can choose from a variety based on their level of experience and position such as  “Learnin and Luvin, Position Specific and “Ninja” camps, or even participate in a new summer box lacrosse league. Unlike other camps who mostly use part time coaches, BBL camps feature some of the most experienced instructors from their training academy.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
