Care for the Cure Lacrosse Tournament CPX-R Helmets

Care for the Cure Lacrosse Tournament, founded by Ryan Cranston, will be wearing lids adorned with Headwarpz. LAS has great pictures of the helmet from all sides. For more information on the tournament, read below.

On August 15, 2008 Caroline (Care) Cranston, at 24 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia. In high school, Care played lacrosse for West Chester Henderson and continued her lacrosse career at Duquesne University. On May 8, 2010 she passed away after fighting for 21 months. All proceeds will be given to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS), as well as a scholarship in Caroline’s name. In 2009 we raised $8,000.00 for the LLS and we plan on raising much more this year. Our mission is to bring the lacrosse community together and to raise awareness for this terrible disease.

Each year in the United States, about 2,000 children and 27,000 adults are diagnosed with leukemia. The Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) donates 74% of its funds to cancer research and is currently funding 400 scientists worldwide.

The tournament will be held on five fields at West Chester Henderson High School, including two turf fields. Games will be 50 minutes in duration and played according to U.S. Lacrosse Women’s and Men’s rules at a cost of $600 per team.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
