Poillon and Taylor named preseason All-Americans; Lehigh men’s lacrosse ranked 15th



BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior goalie Matt Poillon has been named an Inside Lacrosse second team preseason All-American while classmate Dan Taylor has earned honorable mention recognition as announced on Monday. In addition, the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team is ranked 15th in Inside Lacrosse’s annual Face-Off Yearbook. Cassese unveils 2015 Lehigh men’s lacrosse schedule



Lehigh will open its season by hosting Marquette on Feb. 7. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Golden Eagles in their home opener last season, 13-6, but Marquette bounced back to finish 4-2 in the Big East and advance to the conference semifinals. The following Saturday, Lehigh will travel to Furman for a second straight season before returning home for its Patriot League opener against Boston University on the 21st. Read More…

Only halfway through his collegiate career, the Ridgewood, New Jersey native has already developed into an All-American on the field. I played college lacrosse at Lehigh University and I will always be a proud Mountain Hawk alumni. I chose Lehigh for two main reasons. One being the arrival of head coach Kevin Cassese and the uprise of the program. Coach Cassese’s passion and determination was immediately felt when being recruited by him and one thing that stuck over other coaches at other programs is he did not give me a strict timeline to commit. He genuinely wanted me to make the right decision for myself in terms of school and lacrosse. This leads me to the second main reason why I chose Lehigh. It is a smaller private school where I felt I wanted to be, regardless of whether or not I was playing lacrosse there. Read More…
