The air in Ocean City, Md. had a distinct mix of ocean air, sweaty pads, and booze this weekend as thousands of laxer’s made the trip to the annual Ocean City Lacrosse Classic tournament. Lacrosseplayground.com had a team in the tournament. Check out some shots from the games.

We’re halfway through summer and you know we couldn’t go too long without showing you all some shots from our summer ball team. Check them out after the jump.

June is here, which means summer ball is right around the corner and we have a chance for you to be a part of Team Lacrosse Playground. OK, you don’t actually get to play with us. But you can look fly, because we’ve teamed up with Boathouse and are giving away one full set of our summer ball unis — reversible jersey and shorts.

Philadelphia, PA – May 4, 2010 – Lacrosse players are very style conscious and yet practical when it comes to the uniforms they wear — Boathouse Sports realizes this and today unveiled its new fully sublimated “Summer League” shorts with pockets. Boathouse will offer the “Summer League” shorts with a swoop side panel that can be also be sublimated using a solid color or a teams own design.

Our buds at LAS just received their new Boathouse Revolution pinnies for Summer ball and they are baller. The Versa-Dri reversible sublimated fabric has Red on one side and Blue on the other with flat lock seems for enhanced durability. The stars down the side is a nice touch too.

The Ivy League has a deep lacrosse tradition. The league captured the first USILA championship in 1881, the first NCAA Championship in 1971 and remains one of the premiere leagues today even with the absence of athletic scholarships. As far as jerseys, there is an emphasis on the classic. Not surprisingly, some schools have remained very conservative in their attire, while others have broken the mold.
