Tampa Men’s Lacrosse to Host Three Games Next Week



TAMPA, Fla. – After a one week hiatus the University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team will host three games, including two Deep South Conference match up, next week at Pepin Stadium. Sunday afternoon the Spartans will host Coker at 1 p.m. Tuesday night the Spartans will host Wingate in a conference match up. Tampa Spartans comeback falls short against Lions



SAINT LEO, Fla – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team overcame a five goal deficit but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Saint Leo 8-7 in overtime Saturday night at University Field. With this win the Lions improve to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Deep South Conference, while the Spartans fall to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. University of Tampa’s Griffo Scores Four To Defeat Florida Tech



LAKELAND, Fla – Greg Griffo scored four goals, including the go ahead goal, as the University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team defeated Florida Tech 11-7 Wednesday night at Pepin Stadium. With the win the Spartans improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Deep South Conference, while the Panthers fall to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Spartans struck first as Trevor Calleja won the opening faceoff. University of Tampa M. Lacrosse: Eric Dance Enjoying Decision to Play Lacrosse



Eric Dance was born into a football family and grew up playing the game. He did not begin his athletic career as a lacrosse player nor did he ever imagine himself playing lacrosse. Dance’s friend came down to Tampa from the northeast and showed him the ropes on the game. This change from football to lacrosse began early on in middle school and has been consistent ever since. “The second I started playing I got hooked. University of Tampa Men’s Lacrosse Beat Florida Southern in Opener, 12-7



LAKELAND, Fla – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team scored five second quarter goals, including three in a 40 second span, while the Spartans defense held the Moccasins to two second half goals, en route to a 12-7 win over Florida Southern Friday night at Bryant Stadium. Pat Ivory ’08 Returns to Saint Michael’s as Interim Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach



COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College has hired Pat Ivory ’08 as the interim head coach of its men’s lacrosse team. A former four-year player and three-year assistant coach at the College, Ivory succeeds Brian Kingsbury, who left earlier this month to take the head coach position at Lynn (Fla.) University. In his three seasons as an assistant at Saint Michael’s, between 2009 and 2011, Ivory helped lead the Purple Knights to a 23-20 record, including a 10-6 campaign in 2011, during which the team reached the Northeast-10 Conference Championship semifinals and was 8-2 in league play.
