BALTIMORE, Feb. 13, 2013 — US Lacrosse President and CEO Steve Stenersen today issued comments on the proposed Maryland House of Delegates Bill 1123, which if passed by the Maryland General Assembly would legislate that girls’ lacrosse players in the state wear protective headgear as per specifications set forth by a state task force. VCU Will Add Division 1 Lacrosse in 2015-16



RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 14, 2013) – Virginia Commonwealth University will add women’s lacrosse to its athletics lineup beginning with the 2015-16 season. The VCU Board of Visitors on Friday approved adding the sport to its intercollegiate athletics program, which currently sponsors 16 intercollegiate sport programs; eight men’s teams and eight women’s teams. The most recent Division I intercollegiate sport added to the VCU Athletics program was women’s soccer in 1995. Read More..

Willcox Heads to Peru for Medical Service Trip

Sophomore women’s lacrosse player Lauren Willcox had anything but a typical winter break as she spent the last week of her vacation time on a medical service trip to Cusco, Peru. From Jan. 4-12, Willcox joined a group of student members of the Lehigh University American Medical Student Association (LUAMSA) on a trip to gain clinical volunteer experience and learn about healthcare in another country.
