Cherry Creek Alumni Pays Homage to Rock ‘N Roll Legend

The Cherry Creek Alumni Team from Englewood Colorado wanted to pay tribute to an icon from their childhood at the Breckenridge Lax tournament this past August. Most of the team are from the class of 86′, 87′, 88′ & 89. A few are from the late 90’s. They decided to go with a Van Halen Franken Strat guitar stripe pattern on their uniforms, helmet decals, cleat customization and dye jobs. What says lacrosse more than Eddie Van Halen?!

The pattern consists of Black and White stripes running across a Red backdrop. Cherry Creek alum, Scott Anderson, designed the shirts, and had Rocky Mountain Apparel, do the printing. Check out the custom Under Armour cleats, Brine Clutch, & Cascade CPX-R.

These uniforms would really make Van Halen proud. The combination of music and lacrosse can often be a thing of beauty. Scott Anderson feels the same way:

Eddie Van Halen has been my favorite musician for 20+ years, it’s been fun to get creative with the stripes & incorporate the design into lax stuff.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
