We’ve seen chrome as a trend in lacrosse products lately. We’ve seen it appear in the Warrior Trojan helmet (as a prototype) and in the face masks for Cascade. Chrome made another appearance this weekend at Homewood field, as Hopkins’ Michael Kimmel and North Carolina’s Ryan Flanagan both played with chrome heads. This is the first we can remember a player going chrome for a major college program (please correct us if we are wrong – we know you will). So the question is, what do you think? Chrome heads can look pretty sick in person, but don’t always have the same effect from afar or on film (as you can see from the final picture below). We want to know — do you give a thumbs up or a thumbs down on the chrome heads?

Jammer had been using a chrome head almost all season for Cuse. Old news. The new news? Keough’s orange metallic head. You can find pics on lax.com or my post on LAS later today. SICK GEAR! almost as good as Harvard’s metallic marroon helmets!
Blake:
Orange/Chrome has a nice ring to it! Sounds like some tricked out rims on a car.
yeah I went to the syracuse albany game and steven keogh had one in an orange/chrome version it was shiny and it looked fantastic i believe from the sidewalls and i was very close it was a Nike Legacy not 100% but it was beautiful
I was at the game (Hopkins Vs Carolina) Saturday, and those Chrome heads were the BOMB,,, when the sun hit them, it was truly as site to see.

Oliver:
If I was in cage I’d definitely find it distracting.

It appears to be some type of coating. Don’t think it’s dyed.
snap, does the sun reflect off the chrome and blind a goalie for a split second? if it does then my shots will be in the back of the net before the goalie gets his/her sight back.

We heard rumblings about Cuse players playing with chrome.

I think Cody Jamieson was rockin’ one of these during ‘Cuse’s game against Hopkins. But I couldn’t tell what it was. Pretty tight though.
