Colgate Set to Host 2015 Empire State Cup

Hamilton, N.Y. – Empire State Cup is pleased to announce Colgate University, located in Hamilton, N.Y., will host the 2015 Empire State Cup tournament July 29-Aug. 2. New for 2015, the tournament has gone to a format by graduation year with additional divisions and a new sport.

This summer will feature three boys and three girls lacrosse divisions competing July 29-31 with divisions separated: players graduating in 2015 and beyond, 2017 and beyond, and 2019 and beyond. Players are allowed to participate with one team, and are allowed to play up divisions, but not down. Additionally, 7v7 football will be added to the competition schedule for the 2015 Empire State Cup with divisions in 2016 and 2018, under the same format mentioned above.

About Empire State Cup
The Empire State Cup was designed in 2012 to give high school boys lacrosse players in the state of New York another opportunity to be seen and recruited playing at the highest level of competition possible.

The 2015 Cup will introduced a new format with 3 divisions for boys and girls lacrosse and a brand new 7 v 7 football division. Lacrosse Divisions are by graduation year 2015, 2017 & 2019. Players can only play for one division, and are eligible to play up a level. ESC now has introduced football with two divisions of 7 v 7 Graduation years 2016 & 2018.

The cup is designed to see who indeed is the best region in the Empire State.
