Corrigan Sports Signs Multi-Year Deals with IWCLA to Manage Lacrosse Tournaments

Baltimore, MD (July 13, 2012) – Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced today that it secured multi-year contracts to manage the IWLCA’s Champion Cup and its newest event, the West Coast Cup. Coupled with the Capital Cup and President’s Cup, CSE will now operate and manage all four of the IWLCA’s marquee girls’ lacrosse recruiting tournaments.

Gothard Lane, IWLCA president, said: “We’re excited to be working exclusively with CSE for all of our tournaments because it ensures a consistent, first-class experience for college coaches, club coaches, student-athletes and the host cities. And by adding the West Coast Cup to our calendar next year it will help take our events and the sport to new heights in the coming years.”

The 2013 Champions Cup will take place June 21-23 at the River City Sportsplex (formerly known as SportsQuest) in Midlothian, Va. The date and the location are still to be determined for next summer’s inaugural West Coast Cup.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the IWLCA again for the Champions Cup and we look forward to building the West Coast Cup” stated CSE President Lee Corrigan. “With the rapid growth of lacrosse around the country it was a natural for us to add a high profile West Coast event.”

The 2011 President’s Cup set girls club lacrosse tournament attendance records as 363 coaches representing 257 universities took in all the action in Naples, Florida. Next weekend’s Capital Cup, which CSE first started managing last year, will feature 260 teams. Registration for both events sold out within 15 minutes of registration opening.

Registration for the Champions Cup and West Coast Cup will open December 3rd and 17th, respectively. Capital Cup signups will take place on Feb., 4, 2013, while President’s Cup signups will begin March 25, 2013.
