Jimmy Morin and Al Zayac, co-owners of OTB Lax, invite lacrosse players to participate in Cradle for a Cause, a charity lacrosse tournament held in Newton, Massachusetts. This boy’s youth lacrosse tournament will take place Saturday, June 16th and 17th 2012. “At OTB Lax, we would like to introduce a unique tournament format where we use the hunger and desire of competitive lacrosse and turn it into a community building event,” explains Zayac of their concept.
Cradle for a Cause is a fundraising lacrosse tournament intended to educate people on the benefits of charitable giving and provide them the opportunity to help those in need. Each team will play for their charity of choice, with a portion of all proceeds going directly to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. To get started, each team’s registration fee will serve as their bank. The tournament will be a round robin format, with wins adding to each team’s bank and losses resulting in deductions. The concept is simple; the final amount of money each team ends with will go directly to their charities. If lacrosse isn’t your forte or you simply cannot make it the day of, donations are accepted on OTBLax.com for those who wish to lend a hand.
