Custom Princeton Warrior Burn Speed 3.0 Cleats

The Princeton University men’s lacrosse team and Warrior Sports have had a longstanding relationship. Since the time when Warrior Sports was invented in a Princeton dorm room by Dave Morrow in 1992, Warrior has grown into one of the largest lacrosse companies in the world.

A few weeks ago we showed you an up-close look at Team USA’s custom Warrior Burn 3.0 cleats. Once again, the Warrior footwear team gave Lacrosse Playground inside access to their shoe laboratory and described what went into the making of the Princeton 3.0’s. Read more to see what C.D., Lars, “Killer” and the crew have to say.

“Because of our 15 year relationship with Princeton lax and their successful track record at the Division 1 level, our Warrior footwear team felt it was necessary to hook up the Tigers with both home and away cleats,” said C.D. “We hope they rep them proudly and with style.”

Warrior created two custom cleats for Princeton, including a white home and a black away version. The design team took a special liking to the Princeton cleats, particularly the home version.

“Even though we feel like all of the custom cleats that come out of the shoe laboratory are well designed, the Princeton home cleats have been the clear favorite of the Warrior footwear team,” said C.D. “The general consensus of all viewers is that the cleats are fresh. Our custom SMU designer “Killer” did an exceptional job of implementing the proper equilibrium of colors; this cleat has flare, it has style and portrays the essence of speed.”

The home cleats are primarily white, with orange and black accents. And we couldn’t help but notice that for a team whose mascot is the Tigers, this cleat sure gives off an illusion of a tiger and its stripes. The shoe also has “Tigers” and the Princeton “P” on the tongue of the shoe.

“Working on the Princeton team cleat was a pretty sweet project,” said “Killer”. “From a design standpoint, you get to combine the history of the school with the aggressiveness of the sport and team. We looked at combining traditional school logos and design elements into a cleat that hooked up with the attitude of their uniforms.”

“Part of our goal throughout this process was to provide a sense of speed and edge to a traditional IVY League program,” added C.D. “We asked our designers to push the envelope and take the color combos to the next level. Lars and “Killer” definitely came through with their rendition of a Princeton away cleat.”

The away cleats are black, but incorporate large swaths of orange into the shoe. Both the home and away cleats feature an orange and black design incorporated into the underside of the cleat, with white studs in the bottom of the shoe.

“Usually laxers don’t like black cleats,” said C.D. “But the amount of orange implemented into the shoe’s upper gives this cleat an aggressive, bad-ass look. We utilized white studs to keep the cleats looking light, fresh and fast. We think they will hook up great with Princeton’s away uniforms and give the squad a little extra bounce to their step. “

Pete has no idea what he’s talking about (he probably went to some JV lax program like Duke that jocks Hopkins’ stuff at all times to ride their cred)…These cleats are bomb…I wear them in my Onondaga box league when I’m straight jacking up native americans wearing Lars’ shades and doing Mikey Powell backflips on the reg…

Chill out Pete- cleats are sweet bro

These cleats are average at best especially in the lacrosse community where Hopkins and Nike have set the bar leagues above this mediocrity. Nothing special here. Not sure why people keep trying to outdo Nike when all they need to do is ride in their wake and gladly accept their marginal returns. David and Goliath is skepticism, Nike is a real life titan of style and performance as to sports gear.

First off i hate warrior, but these cleats aren’t bad. But Princeton does wear the venom helmets (which are hideous so idk why anyone likes them). I am not aware if they are wearing the venoms this year as well. Lastly, Nike does do this. They have for quite a while. NikeID.com

    a) I want a pair of these. they look dope.
    2) who names their child “killer”?
iii) is Warrior going to offer custom cleats to more teams than just Pton, Middlebury and Team USA? Could be the next big thing like with gloves. I’d expect Nike to get on this soon as well.

if the princeton team had venom helmets, they would look so much better with these cleats
