Dan Hardy: Latest Addition to Maverik Lacrosse

Dan Hardy

Long Island City, NY – August 4, 2009 – Dan Hardy, one of only a handful of players to wear the immortal number 22 at Syracuse University and the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2009 MLL Collegiate Draft by the Denver Outlaws, is the latest professional and collegiate all-time great to come on-board with Maverik Lacrosse.

Hardy joins Paul Rabil, John Christmas, Kyle Sweeney, Jay Jalbert, John Gagliardi, Stephen Berger, Sean Lindsay, Mike Springer and Kip Turner in Maverik’s on-going efforts to grow the sport of lacrosse nationwide. In his new position with Maverik, Dan will be representing the company at clinics, camps and tournaments nationwide as well as participating in the research and development of future Maverik products.

In 2007, Hardy played in 13 games for the Orangemen at both attack and midfield scoring 22 goals, recording 32 points and scoring at least once in 11 outings. In both 2008 and 2009 the 6′ 4″ attackman from Tully, NY, lead the Orangemen to back-to-back NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse National Championships. Hardy firmly secured his place in Syracuse lacrosse lore in 2008 when he scored a hat trick versus Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Championship game at Gillette stadium. In 2009, Dan continued to prove why he is one of the best attackmen in the country tallying 25 goals and 43 points, a second NCAA National Championship and topping off his collegiate career with All-American honors.

“I am thrilled to be able to continue my lacrosse career with a fast growing company like Maverik Lacrosse,” said Dan Hardy. “I’m looking forward to working with all of these great lacrosse players and add my knowledge of the game to help continue the growth of Maverik in Upstate New York and throughout the US.”

“We are really looking forward to having Dan share his love for the game with kids across the country and helping us develop and promote our new line of products,” said John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse. “Dan is one of those rare players who is driven to grow the sport of lacrosse while also being focused on helping us develop new innovative products as we continue to grow.”

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
